L & A Reinforcements are the leading provider of guidewalls within the UK. Our relationship with our clients has stood the test of time and we continue to be there to support all our clients old and new. Many of our team members and site members are familiar faces to the industry and bring with them a wealth of experience on all types of projects.
Our teams are continually trained and certified with all accreditations and skill sets. As health and safety awareness has increased so to have our HSEQ procedures. Our staff are Safety Critical Medical certified annually and we run a developmental programme for all our staff to ensure staff retention and the production of a quality service.
Our History
L & A Reinforcements was founded by Simon Atkinson in 2005 who already had a vast amount of experience in the industry and had been working on jobs around the country. He designed the first adaptable shuttering system that would support the precast of guidewalls offering the precision and strength that piling works required. The system was designed from his yard in Alnwick which continues to this day. As years have gone on and the industry has changed the need for our system has grown and continues to do so. During Simon’s years of working on sites he met Neil Grace who had established an excellent and hard working reputation within the piling industry. In 2016, Simon brought Neil on board so he could step back and Neil slowly took over the day to day. In 2023, Neil become the Managing Director and Simon continues to be a valued part of the L&A family.
Our Yards & Offices
Our founding yard is in the beautiful Alnwick in Northumberland and serves as our workshop and storage yard. We also have a yard based in Hertfordshire in the South that acts as our transport and secondary storage yard. Having yards in both the North and South enables us to reach jobs Nationwide and we pride ourselves on our smooth mobilisation and demobilisation on sites no matter their location. All our transport vehicles are FORS Silver registered and therefore can be accepted onto any UK site. L & A Reinforcements has invested in a modern fleet of excavators all of which have tier 5 engines which comply with NRMM emissions standards.
