Guidewalls are required to help control and limit the installation tolerances of piled foundations. They are typically constructed for the piled or diaphragm retaining walls, although some are built for the control of bearing piles where tight positional tolerances are required. They are normally constructed using concrete and steel reinforcement. The L&A shuttering system is fully reusable, the shutters are removed once the concrete has cured allowing the completed guidewall to be surveyed prior to strutting and backfilling.
The system removes the requirement for the use of polystyrene void formers and the potential the use of this method has to contaminate muck away with polystyrene beads. Contiguous, Secant and bearing pile Guidewalls are formed using scalloped shutters. Our stock of pods for all pile diameters allows us to be able to respond to our clients needs at short notice. Many of our projects have required unique and custom piled Guidewalls of which we have excelled in creating. Our system is safe, accurate and efficient to operate and install.
Providing peace of mind that a quality product is formed. The shutters are removed following the casting of each respective section of Guidewall, this allows accurate as-built surveys to be taken, requires backfilling reducing muck away volume and doesn’t create contamination within the muck away.
Guidewalls are used to form an in-situ concrete guide for the accurate positioning of piles. Using a safe and unique shuttering system that is adaptable allows the accommodation of piles of various formations and varying diameters and pile centres.
All works can be both fixed or temporary and are fabricated to suit every detail no matter the complexity of the job. During temporary work guidewalls the shutters will be removed following the casting of each respective section of guidewall, this allows for accurate built in surveys to be taken. Guidewall works can be structured around pile diameters from 400mm to 1800mm.
L & A Reinforcements has long been providing works for flared head productions. Dependant on the stage of the project we can provide flared heads on wet or dry piles…
Should there be a pile cropping requirement, L&A have much experience of this part of the process no matter the size or proximity of the piles in their sequence.
All of our services come with years of specialist experience and a range of skills and solutions to provide the most effective and complete work for your project.
